Sourcing Standards
The integrity of our analysis depends on the quality and reliability of our sources. The K-Moonshot Intelligence Terminal employs a rigorous sourcing framework designed to ensure that every claim, data point, and assessment published on this platform is grounded in verifiable information.
We prioritise the following source categories, listed in order of precedence:
- Official Korean government publications — MSIT press releases, budget documents, policy papers, legislative records, and ministerial statements form the primary foundation of our reporting on government programmes and policy direction.
- International institution data — Reports and datasets from the OECD, IMF, World Bank, WIPO, and other multilateral organisations provide the macroeconomic and comparative context essential to positioning Korea’s initiatives within the global landscape.
- Corporate filings and press releases — Annual reports, earnings calls, investor presentations, and official corporate announcements from companies participating in K-Moonshot missions are used to track private-sector engagement and investment.
- Credible Korean and international media outlets — Reporting from established outlets such as Yonhap News Agency, Korea Herald, JoongAng Daily, Seoul Economic Daily, Bloomberg, and Reuters supplements primary sources with contextual reporting and investigative coverage.
Single-source claims are clearly attributed to their origin. Where possible, we cross-reference data points across multiple independent sources before publication. When conflicting information exists between sources, we note the discrepancy and identify which source we consider most authoritative and why.
Editorial Decision-Making
Editorial decisions at the K-Moonshot Intelligence Terminal are made independently and are based solely on three criteria: newsworthiness, analytical significance, and relevance to understanding South Korea’s technology ecosystem and the K-Moonshot initiative.
Coverage priorities are determined by the editorial team without external input or pressure. No government body, corporate entity, research institution, or other external party has advance review rights, approval rights, or any form of pre-publication influence over content that appears on this platform.
The selection of which companies, institutions, missions, or policy developments receive coverage is driven by their significance to the K-Moonshot programme and the broader Korean technology landscape—not by commercial relationships, advertising revenue, or external requests. Topics are evaluated on their merits, and the depth of coverage reflects the importance and complexity of the subject matter rather than any external consideration.
Our editorial team reserves the right to decline requests for coverage, to determine the timing of publication, and to frame analysis according to independent professional judgement.
Advertising Firewall
A strict and inviolable separation exists between the advertising operations and the editorial operations of this platform. This separation—commonly referred to as an advertising firewall—is fundamental to maintaining the trust and credibility that our readers expect.
Advertisers have no influence over which topics are covered, how they are covered, or what conclusions are drawn in our analysis. No advertiser is granted preferential treatment in editorial content, and no editorial decision is made or altered based on advertising considerations.
Advertising placements on this platform are managed through Google AdSense and are algorithmically determined based on page content and user context. The editorial team does not select, approve, or influence which advertisements appear alongside content.
We do not accept sponsored content, native advertising, or paid placement within editorial pages. There are no “partner content,” “sponsored analysis,” or “presented by” arrangements on this platform. Every piece of analysis published under the K-Moonshot Intelligence Terminal name reflects independent editorial judgement, without exception.
Data Integrity
Accuracy in financial figures, budget allocations, and statistical claims is paramount to the credibility of this platform. The K-Moonshot Intelligence Terminal adheres to the following data integrity principles:
- Primary sourcing — Financial figures, budget allocations, and statistical claims are sourced from official publications wherever possible, including Korean government budget announcements, OECD data repositories, IMF country reports, and corporate financial filings.
- Estimation transparency — When figures are estimated, projected, or approximate rather than confirmed, this is clearly stated in the text. We distinguish between announced allocations, estimated figures, and projected outcomes.
- Currency conventions — Currency conversions between Korean won (₩) and US dollars (USD) use prevailing exchange rates at the time of publication and are provided for international context only. Readers should note that exchange rate fluctuations affect USD equivalents, and converted figures should be treated as approximate.
- Budget versus disbursement — Government budget announcements represent approved allocations and may differ from actual disbursements. Where data on actual spending is available, we report it alongside allocated figures. We do not conflate budgeted amounts with confirmed expenditures.
All data visualisations, tables, and statistical presentations include source attributions. When data is aggregated or derived from multiple sources, the methodology is described alongside the presentation.
Conflict of Interest Policy
The K-Moonshot Intelligence Terminal maintains a strict conflict of interest policy to ensure that our analysis remains free from personal financial bias or undue external influence.
Members of the editorial team do not hold financial positions—including equity holdings, options, or other financial instruments—in companies that are the subject of coverage on this platform. This includes direct holdings as well as indirect holdings through funds specifically targeting companies covered in our analysis.
If any potential conflict of interest arises—whether financial, personal, or professional—it is disclosed prominently alongside the relevant content. Transparency in potential conflicts is a non-negotiable standard of this platform.
The editorial team does not accept gifts, hospitality, travel, or any other form of benefit from entities covered in our analysis. This includes but is not limited to press trips, conference sponsorships, product samples, or entertainment from companies, government agencies, or research institutions referenced on this platform.
These policies apply to all contributors, analysts, and editors who produce content for the K-Moonshot Intelligence Terminal. Adherence to this conflict of interest policy is a condition of participation in our editorial operations.
